A conditional assessment is a process whereby a building or its elements, components and sub-components are assessed to determine their integrity or condition and identify any defects that need to be corrected. The main aim of this process is to obtain data that can be used to determine when an asset should be maintained or replaced. Conditional assessments indicate the physical state and performance of an asset. This is assessed in terms of the reliability and ability of the asset/building to meet the customers’ needs and demands.
